Gifts for My Parents

Last year I started a tradition that I want to continue doing for many years to come.  I stitched my parents and kids ornaments for Christmas.  For what I made my parents last year, click here and here.  The one I made my stepdad last year was a hit, on my blog and with him!

This year for my mom I made:

Santa and Rudolph by Water's Edge Designs
2007 JCS Ornament Issue
Fabric:  32 ct. ???
Fibre's:  DMC as charted
Embellishments:  pompoms, bell, twisted cord, ribbon
Finished as a flat ornament

I already have a few to choose from to stitch her for next Christmas.  While she was looking through my JCS ornament issues she pointed out a lot she likes, all with a gajillion colours :)  like charts by Serendipity Designs or The Vermillion Stitchery.  Not something you start the month before Christmas.

Here is what I made for my stepdad this year:

Santas and Snowmen Book #151 by The Prairie Schooler
Fabric:  32 ct. Platinum Belfast
Fibres:  as charted except red, used WDW Turkish Red
Embellishments:  Mill Hill Petite Seed Beads, pompom, ribbon, pins
Finished as a pinkeep ornament

I'll leave you a photo of Pumpkin enjoying Christmas morning with us:

Sun Shiny Morning

What's a kitty and a puppy to do when a window is open to the warm, fresh air and some (unusual for Vancouver in January) sunshine?  Bask in it of course!

Aren't they cute???  And photogenic!

I had a great day yesterday.  It was my very first Stitch 'n Bitch!  My girlfriend came over in the morning, we had homemade coffee cake (the best recipe ever) and coffee.  We then moved on to the stiching and bitching part of the day.  My girlfriend worked on Christmas Eve by The Prairie Schooler and some knitting and I worked on my L*K Exchange piece which is now ready to be finish finished!  I made grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch along with pickles (a must with grilled cheese!) and veggies and dip.  Then more stitching!  We're definitely doing that again.

Last night I worked on LHN's Fa La La.

Not a lot of progress but I'm not stressing about it because I still haven't received Pear Tree or He's a Flake with my autoship.  It's fun to stitch though.

Happy Stitching!

More Pillow Talk

This is where my cat, Pumpkin, slept last night as I worked on Christmas by the Letter:

Mes Girafe is now safe in a drawer until it's time to frame it. I'm playing with fire (fur???) leaving it out!

Today I'm doing a floss toss for a Harvest/Fall exchange piece I'm doing. My first! Woot, Woot! I'm very excited about that and can hardly wait for Tuesday when I find out who my partner is. I have some Gentle Arts Limited Edition mystery colours that I received (as a freebie) with an order that will work perfectly for the chart I've chosen. I'm also doing more organizing in my stitching room, AGAIN! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Happy Stitching!
