Let's Celebrate "Christmas"

I keep this blog mostly stitching related and pretty low key; no political talk, nothing about religion (FYI, we're Catholic) no comments about the horrible things that go on in the news, but there has been something that's really been bugging me that I need to get off my chest.

Since when has it become so politically incorrect to say the word Christmas?

CHRISTMAS is celebrated December 25th, not Holiday.  I don't bake Holiday Cookies, decorate a Holiday Tree, or go around the house singing Holiday Carols, though I do bake Christmas Cookies, put up 3 Christmas Trees, and have almost 500 Christmas Carols on my iPod :)  I'm a huge fan of Santa and I realize that there are people out there that don't celebrate Christmas because it's also the Birth of Christ, to each there own.  So, though as my own personal opinion I like to keep Christ in Christmas, I would also like to keep Christmas in Christmas!

If you've read my rant, thanks for "listening", it feels good to have let it out!  And...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

...of course ;)

Merry Christmas To You !!! I love Christmas !! To me.. Christmas is a Holiday I celebrate. Just like Thankgiving is a Holiday. I will not say Happy Holiday.. I say Merry Christmas. I think the Holiday came from offending people who do not believe in Christ. I do... ( Methodist FYI ) LOL Love your post !!!

I'm with you Aubree! Seems now days there is always "someone" who is offended by "anything & everything" that goes on. I never remember it being that way growing up.
I say Merry Christmas to everyone (catholic here) and if they don't like it Oh well! lol

Amen sister. Merry Christmas. If it wasn't for Jesus, there would be no Christmas.

Merry Christmas!
I respect everyones faith as I expect everyone to respect mine. If someone wishes me something from their religion, I will respond to them the same wishes, this does not make me disrespect mine. So when I say Merry Christmas I dont understand why this should not allow the same response.

I agree, it's a sad day and time when we have to substitue Holidays for Christmas. I still say Merry Christmas though.

Amen! All this PC crap is ridiculous! The ironic thing is that when the powers that be decide to apply PC to a holiday (or whatever) they expect the rest of us to go along with their beliefs without a word, but deny us the same respect. I refuse to go along with it, so Merry Christmas! And if I say that to someone who doesn't celebrate the birth of Christ, I hope they have the maturity to take it as a simple message of good will. :)

Thank you! It is so unbelievable the way people are taking Christ out of Christmas...He is why we celebrate it. I also like santa and snowmen too, but it is just a sad state of things when the baby Jesus is not allowed in a public nativity scene as was on the news this morning. Crazy!!!
